Solder paste is a mixture of solder particles suspended in liquid flux. It is used in automatic soldering processes. The solder particles are usually a mixture of aluminium and lead but the legislation introduced by the RoHS directive dictates that member states of the European Union use solder with very limited traces of lead.
There are several types of solder paste: with no-clean flux, resinous and water-soluble.
